Spanish daily newspaper Estadio Deportivo has learned that Sevilla are showing interest in Hamburg midfielder Milan Badelj.
Los Rojiblancos attempted to sign the player at the start of the transfer window, only to be put off by the €6 million asking price.
However, with the midfielder’s contract due to expire in a year’s time, Sevilla officials are ready to launch a new assault on the Croat, although they face some difficulties in a bid to lure him to Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan.
According to Estadio Deportivo, HSV have lowered the asking price to €5 million, which is still more than los Rojiblancos are prepared to offer, while Badelj himself would have to agree to a pay cut in order to move to Spain.
This basically means that Sevilla officials will have to work hard if they want to sign Badelj by the end of the summer transfer window, with everything suggesting he will remain with Hamburg after all.
