Spanish daily Estadio Deportivo is reporting that Sevilla are considering a move for Napoli defender Federico Fernandez.
Los Rojiblancos are desperately short of options at the back and they are looking to sign another central defender by the end of the transfer window.
According to Estadio Deportivo, Sevilla officials are hoping to sign Federico Fernandez on a season-long loan from Napoli.
The 24-year-old has returned to Stadio San Paolo after spending last six months on loan at Getafe, but it looks as though he won’t be staying there for much longer.
With Paolo Cannavaro and Raul Albiol the preferred defensive partnership, there is every chance Fernandez will be farmed out on loan once again.
The interesting thing is that despite only making 18 league appearances for the Azzurri during the two years at the club, Fernandez is still regarded as a regular starter for Argentina, having made 9 appearances in the 2014 World Cup qualifying campaign.
