Sevilla trying again to price Manchester United and Barcelona out of Alves move

Sky Sports reports that Daniel Alves is no closer to departing Sevilla, despite the club receiving 3 bids for the defender.

The Brazilian international is keen to secure a summer move away from Sanchez Pizjuan, but as yet his efforts have been in vain.

The defender is said to be desperate to leave Sevilla and test himself at one of Europe’s top clubs, and the player has not been in short-demand with a host of top clubs expressing interest in the full-back.

However, Sevilla have made it clear that they will not let one of their star players’ leave until an interested club meet their valuation for the Brazilian.

Sevilla reportedly turned down a £26 million bid from Barcelona last summer, suggesting that it would take a possibly record-breaking move to persuade the La Liga club to sell.

Sevilla president Jose Maria insists that Alves will be forced to see out the 4 years left on his contract if the club receive no suitable offers.

“We have received three offers but not one is close (to our valuation) and for that reason I haven’t even entered into negotiations,” he said.

“Until a deal is reached, the player will see out his contract.”

Alves, 25, is arguably one of the worlds best right-backs at the moment, and Premiership clubs such as Manchester United and Chelsea are said to be interested.

Despite playing in defence Alves is renowned for his attacking and technical ability, and is more comfortable in a right-wing back role and therefore may struggle to fit in with the English defensive right back position.

Can someone please explain to me why they think Alves is worth £25 million plus? It is an outrageous figure to put on a steady attacking full back. Who the hell are they trying to kid? Seville and Lyon the clubs with the most ridiculously optimistic inflated valuations for their players in the entire world. Especially Lyon. That president of theirs is a bloody head case.
