Sevilla president claims Juventus offer for Caceres not good enough

Sevilla president Jose Maria Del Nido insists that Juventus need to up their bid if they want to sign defender Martin Caceres.

The Bianconeri are keen to sign the Uruguayan full-back and they have been in talks with Sevilla since late December.

The two parties are still unable to reach an agreement, although they are not too far away at the moment.

“Juventus is improving its offer, but stops short of what Sevilla is asking for someone of Caceres’ youth and international experience,” Sevilla president Del Nido told reporters.

“We have a market price that Juve has not reached and we have no pressing need to sell.”

Asked for his valuation of the player, Del Nido replied: “A little over €10 million.”

The Bianconeri are desperate to sign the player who can cover every single position in the back line, even if he would take up the remaining non-EU slot.

Caceres already spend one season in Turin, while on loan from Barcelona, and it looks he has done enough to impress the Bianconeri chiefs.
