Sevilla have turned down a second bid from Newcastle United for central defender Diego Carlos, according to Marca. The Spanish publication has claimed that Newcastle have made a second offer for the Brazilian of €25 million, but Sevilla have rejected it.
Carlos has a release clause of €80 million, and it is very likely that Newcastle will have to trigger that in order to sign the 28-year-old from La Liga club Sevilla, who are aiming to win the league title this season and will surely not want to sell one of their best players in the middle of the season.
The Brazilian central defender has made 19 appearances in La Liga for Sevilla so far this season, scoring two goals in the process. Carlos has also played six times in the Champions League this campaign.
