According to a report from Marca, Spanish club Sevilla are interested in signing Manchester United defender Eric Bailly. The 24 year old Ivorian isn’t exactly a stranger to Spanish football in the wake of his spells with Espanyol and Villarreal, although it did seem like he was just starting to gain a foothold at Old Trafford.
Sevilla are interested in a series of different defenders such as Diego Carlos, Fernando Calero and Ivan Marcano, with the aim being to strengthen that part of their game. They certainly have some top attacking options, but they need to balance it out if they want to reach that next level.
Bailly still has a long way to do before he can be considered a world class defender in the realms of the beautiful game, but even with that in mind, it feels like he’s got a great deal of potential and it’d be a shame for Premier League fans to see him depart.
