Spanish newspaper AS reports that Sevilla defender Federico Fazio is set to join Zenit St Petersburg.
After selling goalkeeper Diego Lopez to Real Madrid, los Rojiblancos are on the verge of further improving their difficult financial situation.
According to AS, Zenit have agreed to pay €6 million for Sevilla centre-back Federico Fazio.
The player has yet to negotiate personal terms with the Russian club, but given that Zenit are prepared to offer him a significant pay rise, everything suggests the transfer will be completed by the end of the day.
Fazio, 25, has been in fine form this season, making 14 La Liga appearances and scoring 3 goals in the process.
The Argentine is still considered an important member of the side at Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan, but his club were powerless to resist the big money offer from Russia.
Zenit are also showing interest in Celta Vigo striker Iago Aspas and they are reportedly ready to match his €10 million release clause.
