Seydou Doumbia on Chelsea radar

Premier League leaders Chelsea are considering a January bid for CSKA Moscow striker Seydou Doumbia, reports Daily Star.

The Blues were unsuccessful in their attempts to lure the Ivorian to Stamford Bridge in the summer, but they are ready to rekindle their interest.

CSKA Moscow are reportedly prepared to lower their asking price to £15 million in light of the striker’s latest injury problems.

Seydou Doumbia has played through the pain in a number of games this term as he carries an ankle problem, and he scored a brace in his side’s 2-1 win over Manchester City at Etihad.

After spending last four years in Russia, the 26-year-old will be eager to join a top European side and a move to Chelsea appears on the horizon.

Following the impressive triumph over the Premier League holders, CSKA Moscow can be backed at 11/4 to qualify for the Champions League knockout stages.
