Russian daily newspaper Izvestia has learned that Ivorian striker Seydou Doumbia will soon sign a new contract with CSKA Moscow.
The highly rated striker remains on the radar of Europe’s top clubs and with his current deal due to expire at the end of the season, the Russian giants are not in a very good position.
However, it is believed they are ready to offer the Ivory Coast international a new contract until June 2018, while his wage will remain at €3 million per campaign.
According to Izvestia, the player is prepared to commit his future to the club seeing as how his suitors have yet to make concrete moves.
Doumbia, 26, joined CSKA Moscow from Young Boys in the summer of 2010 and has since bagged 56 goals in 86 league appearances.
The striker should be in the starting line-up when the Russians face AS Roma in the Champions League clash, where the Giallorossi are 8/15 favourites.
