Shakhtar Donetsk attract Bolivian striker

Ukranian giants Shakhtar Donetsk will be paying nine million Euros for Bolivian striker Marcelo Moreno.

The talented forward will be signing a five-year deal at Shakhtar. Moreno (20) caught the club’s attention with his impressive performance at Cruzeiro in Brazil.

In 36 matches, Moreno scored no less than 21 goals. In the Copa Libertadores he is one of the topscorers with eight goals.

Moreno was born in Brazil and in fact represented Brazilian youth teams. However, his mother is Bolivian and the player eventually opted to play for Bolivia’s national team.

For Bolivia, the youngster played five games so far and scored two goals.

“Marcelo wants to show his qualities in another league. After a visit to Donetsk he came to the conclusion that Shakhtar have everything well arranged and he can succeed there,” stated his current club, Cruzeiro.
