Chinese Super League outfit Shanghai Shenhua has reportedly tabled a bid for Barcelona midfield veteran Andres Iniesta.
The 33-year-old Spanish midfielder faces stiff competition for places at Camp Nou which increased with the arrival of Liverpool magician Philippe Coutinho and most recent suggestions claimed Iniesta could be on his way out of the club.
Andres Iniesta insisted the €160 million arrival of the Brazilian star would not ‘make me retire or kick me out’ but Shanghai Shenhua are said to be willing to test his resolve with a big-money proposition.
Shanghai Shenhua president Wu Xiaohui was in attendance at Camp Nou for Barcelona’s Copa del Rey victory over Espanyol when he submitted a formal bid for Andres Iniesta, TMW has learned.
The Spanish giants were caught off guard with the proposition but are said to be unwilling to sell the veteran and one of the most iconic figures of the current generation at Camp Nou.
