Swiss midfielder Xherdan Shaqiri has revealed that Bayern Munich have no intention of letting him leave Alianz Arena.
The highly rated footballer remains unhappy by the lack of regular playing time and he has made it clear that he would prefer to leave in search of first team football.
However, Shaqiri now reveals that he was informed that the club chiefs were not prepared to sanction his sale, meaning he would probably have to wait until his contract ends in 2016 in order to leave the club.
“I have a contract until 2016 and the club have already told me that they do not want me to go anywhere, so I have to accept that”, Shaqiri told Sport 1.
“As long as I’m here I’ll give what I can and do my best in training and if I can be handed more starts I’ll be happy. I hope that everyone can see how hungry I am to play football.”
Xherdan Shaqiri has shown a great deal of promise since arriving from FC Basel, but he was unable to nail down a regular starting berth in Bayern’s star-studded side.
Due to numerous injuries to first team players, the 22-year-old has already made five league appearances this term, starting three of those games, while also coming on as a second-half substitute in the Champions League win over CSKA Moscow.
