Championship side Doncaster Rovers have re-signed striker Billy Sharp on loan from Southampton, according to Sky Sports.
The 27 year old originally switched the Keepmoat Stadium for St Mary’s in the summer of 2012, but made just eighteen appearances for the South Coast club.
He spent the majority of last season on loan with Nottingham Forest, while he secured a temporary move to Reading last September, where he scored twice in ten games.
During his first spell with the Rovers, Sharp made 86 appearances and scored 41 goals after initially joining on loan from Sheffield United.
He was named the clubs Player of the Season during the 2010/11 campaign, when his fifteen goals helped the club avoid relegation.
With Doncaster side currently sitting in the bottom three of the Championship, manager Paul Dickov will hope that Sharp will have a similar impact this time around, starting with Saturday afternoon’s trip to managerless Blackpool.
