Sheffield United complete Bed Woodburn loan

Sheffield United have officially completed the loan signing of Ben Woodburn, who joins from 2018 Champions League finalists Liverpool. The 18-year-old youngster has been on the books at Anfield since 2007, rising up through the ranks before making a handful of first-team appearances from 2016 onwards. Now, however, as the Reds go in search of silverware this season, Woodburn will be furthering his development in the Championship.

Rangers were said to be very interested in bringing him over with manager Steven Gerrard having the first-hand experience of seeing what Woodburn can do, but it seems as if the allure of staying in English football was too much for him.

The Blades impressed a lot of fans and pundits last season with their 10th place finish in the Championship, as they managed to continue their playoff push until late in the season before eventually ending up just six points behind Derby County in sixth.
