English Championship side Sheffield United will unveil their latest summer signing Ched Evans from Manchester City in a deal that could be worth £3m.
Evans, who had been a transfer target for Blades boss Kevin Blackwell, is a product of City’s youth academy, and rose through the ranks to make his City debut against Norwich City, in 2007.
The 20-year-old Welsh, who has been capped six times, spent the remainder of 2007/08 season on loan to Norwich.
While, the Blades’ initial bid of £1.5million had been turned down in June, the two clubs have now agreed for a reported fee that could rise to £3million depending on appearances for the player.
Evans won’t be the only signing that will be unveiled, as the Sheffield based club will also be introducing other new arrivals at a press conference at the club’s Shirecliffe academy headquarters.
Boss Blackwell is also expected to confirm the signings of Glen Little and Julian Gray, who had both been on trial with the club.
