Sheffield Wednesday 1/1 to beat Bolton in Tuesday’s Championship clash

Competition: Championship

Market: Sheffield Wednesday win

Odds: 1/1 @ Bet 365

Still enjoying their brightest spell of the season, a resurgent Sheffield Wednesday will travel to a struggling Macron Stadium on Tuesday night.

Starting with the hosts, while Bolton may have managed to pick up a much-needed 2-1 win over Millwall on Saturday, it does not cover what has been a very worrying campaign for Phil Parkinson’s side. With their victory over the weekend just their second in 2019, it has been their ongoing form at the Macron Stadium really behind their struggles. The Whites have recorded just a single victory in front of their own supporters since the end of December, a six-match run. Also slumping to a 1-0 loss when they last met Sheffield Wednesday in the reverse fixture, Tuesday could prove to be another tough test for Bolton.

As for the visitors, coming off the back of another impressive display in their 1-1 draw away at Derby, few would have expected the immediate impact Steve Bruce would have had on Sheffield Wednesday. Yet to lose a single matchup since the former Aston Villa bosses arrival, the Owls will be looking to mount a very surprising playoff push. One man to watch for Tuesday’s visitors will be former Wolves striker Steven Fletcher. The 31-year-old appears to be relishing Bruce’s arrival and now has three goals in his last four appearances. Given the newfound confidence in Wednesday’s camp, we’re backing an away victory in midweek.
