Sheffield Wednesday 4/5 to score over 1.5 goals against Bristol City in Sunday’s Championship contest

Competition: Championship

Market: Sheffield Wednesday to score over 1.5 goals

Odds: 4/5 @ Bet 365

Looking to make another statement this weekend, Sheffield Wednesday will welcome Bristol City to Hillsborough on Sunday lunchtime.

Starting with the hosts, putting in a season-best display to pick up an emphatic 4-0 win over fellow play-off hopefuls Nottingham Forest last weekend, Sheffield Wednesday are really starting to shine under Gary Monk. Unbeaten in their last six outings and also winning three of their last four contests, there is no doubt that the former Middlesbrough boss will be most impressed by his side’s continued success in the final third. With Scotland international Jordan Rhodes bagging a hat-trick last time out, the Owls have now bagged 10 goals in just their last four appearances and the mood in their camp is arguably the highest it has been all year.

As for the visitors, while Bristol City may have opened December with a real bang by picking up back-to-back victories over Fulham and Huddersfield, Lee Johnson’s men have since come crashing back down to earth. Hit with a 2-0 defeat at home against Blackburn and also watching Millwall grab all three points at Ashton Gate earlier in the month, the Robins open the weekend outside of the play-off positions. A huge part of City’s inconsistent run of late has come down to some rather worrying issues at the back. Shipping a brace against both Blackburn and Millwall, Sunday’s guests have shipped over 1.5 goals in four of their last five contests.
