Shevchenko looks to UAE

Andriy Shevchenko is being chased by UAE clubs, according to Dynamo Kiev executive director Rezo Chokhonelidze.

The 35-year-old Ukrainian striker saw his contract with Dynamo Kiev expire at the end of the 2011-12 season and is now weighing up his options, including retirement.

The former Milan and Chelsea striker announced his international retirement following his nation’s group stage exit at the 2012 European Championships which it hosted.

However, his club future remains unclear with Chokhonelidze revealing he has various options.

“He is thinking, is evaluating with the whole family. He also has offers from the United States and the United Arab Emirates, but could also do something with Chelsea’s chairman – his friend Roman Abramovich,” he told reporters.

Late last month, Shevchenko had revealed he has options to keep on playing.

“I have offers from clubs abroad and from Dynamo Kiev,” he told reporters.

“I will maybe have a couple more years of playing football or maybe stop and become a coach. We will see what happens, but I want to stay in football because I love this game.”
