Wenger to allow Nasri to complete City move
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has agreed to sell Samir Nasri to Manchester City, according to L’Equipe.
The French midfielder has one year left on his contract and is widely looking to leave the Emirates this summer.
He has reportedly agreed personal terms with Manchester City and is only waiting for the two clubs to agree on a transfer fee.
Arsene Wenger believed that he could persuade his compatriot into extending his contract, but it now seems that the experienced manager has changed his opinion.
Wenger seriously doubts Nasri’s motivation following his indifferent performance against Boca Juniors and is now ready to allow the player to complete his move to Manchester City.
It is believed that the Professor is only waiting for the purchase of Juan Manuel Mata to be completed before giving the club officials all clear to sell Nasri.
Sunderland looking to hijack Bolton’s bid for Wright-Phillips
Sunderland have joined the race for Manchester City winger Shaun Wright-Phillips, the player’s agent has revealed.
The former England international has been on the fringes at Eastlands ever since Roberto Mancini took over and he is hoping to leave the club in search for first team football.
Bolton are really keen on the winger and were thought to be leading the race for his signature, but now Sunderland have also expressed their interest.
The player’s agent has revealed that the Black Cats have enquired about the 29-year-old.
“There has been an enquiry from Sunderland about Shaun,” Wayne Lindsay was quoted as saying by The Mirror.
“There is no secret that Manchester City are prepared to let him go if an offer came in and it was the right offer so I would guess it is now up to Sunderland whether to follow up that initial interest.”
Sunderland boss Steve Bruce is looking to build a squad capable of challenging for European places, with no less than nine players already arriving to Stadium of Light this summer.
