Djibril Sidibe, currently at Everton on loan from AS Monaco, says he wants to stay on Merseyside after the current temporary deal expires this summer.
The 27-year-old right-back, also capable of playing on the left defensive flank as well as in a wide midfield role, arrived to Goodison Park last summer in a season-long deal which obliged the Premier League side to pay a €2.5 million loan fee, and at the end of which Everton will have the option of making it permanent for a pre-arranged price.
In an interview with French television RMC, as relayed by Liverpool Echo, Sidibe said he had spoken to the chiefs at Monaco and told them about his wish to stay where he is. He feels the high intensity of the Premier League suits him and he wants to continue playing in the English top flight. He is, of course, aware that there would still be a few issues between the two clubs to be resolved, on which he cannot have any influence.
