Chievo Verona defender Marco Malago has joined Siena on loan till the end of the season. The Venice born Malago did not start a single game for Siena in the 2009-10 Serie A season and had been restricted to only two appearances from the substitutes bench.
Siena, who currently lie at the bottom of Serie A, were looking for defenders to bolster their backline and found a suitable match in Malago, who was keen on getting more first team action. Siena have conceded a whopping 41 goals in twenty league games this season ( an average of nearly two goals a game)
Malago rose through the youth ranks at Venezia before joining Cosenza in 1997. After two years with the Calabrians, he joined Genoa and made over a hundred appearances for the Rossoblu before transferring to Chievo.
