Silva keen for PSG to make Rooney move

Paris Saint Germain defender Thiago Silva believes that the mega-rich Ligue 1 club can sign Wayne Rooney in January, the Metro understands.

The England international looked certain to leave the Manchester United in the summer, though any bids for him were rejected out of hand by the club.

Whilst impressing so far this season, the 27 year old is yet to commit his long-term future to the Premier League champions, and reacted angrily towards a television reporter who questioned him on the subject in the aftermath of the 4-2 win over Bayer Leverkusen on Tuesday evening.

Silva has admitted that he hoped his club could have secured Rooney’s services during the recent transfer window, and that they will make a bid in the future.

However, former United chief executive David Gill, now a director at the club, believes talks with the club over an improved deal for the former Everton striker will get underway soon.
