According to Everton manager Marco Silva, Cenk Tosun still has a future at Goodison Park. The Turkish international first joined the club back in January for a fee believed to be around £27 million, although he hasn’t been quite the success story that many were hoping. While the same can be said of many foreign forwards coming over to the Premier League, it certainly feels like there was an expectation on his shoulders from the Merseyside faithful.
At the age of 27 there’s still plenty of time for him to get back to the kind of level he needs to be at in order to be considered a success with Everton, but there’s no denying that he was much more efficient during his time with Besiktas.
Tosun was left out of Silva’s squad for the game against Burnley on Boxing Day, which is what has led to increased speculation over his future.
