Simpson keen on Arsenal return

On-loan West Bromwich youngster Jay Simpson admits he is keen to return to the Arsenal.

The 20-year-old joined Albion on loan in January in order to get some first team action.

“My main aim was to get experience, but I wanted to blend that with enjoyment and that’s not what I’ve really been able to do because of the pressure we’ve been under,” he told the Birmingham Sunday Mercury.

“I’ve learned a lot. I came here and changed my game to adapt to what members of staff were telling me but maybe I should have stuck to doing what got me here in the first place.

“It’s been difficult and maybe I’m not really enjoying it too much.”

“Nothing has been said to me but I want to go back to Arsenal. The deal was for me to come to West Brom and get first-team experience,” he continued.

“If I was thinking about [coming] back on loan, then what’s the point in going back to Arsenal? It wouldn’t make sense.

“My plan is to go back to Arsenal and get into their first team. Everyone wants to play in the Premier League but I want to go back and make a difference.”
