Sinclair could leave Man City in January; Trotta wants Italy return

Manchester City winger Scott Sinclair has revealed he could leave the Etihad Stadium when the transfer window re-opens in January.

Manchester City winger Scott Sinclair has revealed he could leave the Etihad Stadium when the transfer window re-opens in January.

The former Chelsea starlet, 25, left Swansea for Manchester in a deal worth £6.2 million in the summer of 2012, but has since started just three games in two years.

Although injuries have relegated Sinclair to the bench for significant spells, the 25-year-old was always up against it, with likes of James Milner, Jesus Navas, and Samir Nasri ahead of him in Manuel Pellegrini’s pecking order.

“It’s been very frustrating, for the last couple of years I have kept my head and tried to do as well as I can in training,” Sinclair told Sky Sports News HQ.

“Hopefully I will get the chance I am looking for. At this moment in time, it is hard for me to get a game, but all I can do is maybe re-evaluate in January and go from there.

“I hear loads of speculation but at the moment nothing is concrete. I don’t feel like I have had the best of chances. I just want to get out there and show people why City bought me. I haven’t really had that sort of opportunity.”

Sinclair added: “There are world-class players here, so I can’t do much more than keep working hard in training and giving it 100 percent.

“The decision I made, I have made it and I have got to deal with it. The only thing I do miss is playing football. I had the choice to come to City and fight it out with all the big players and the world stars and it hasn’t really worked out thus far.”

Thus, unless City suffer an incomprehensible number of injuries, expect Sinclair to move on in January. Potential suitors include former club Swansea City, Queens Park Rangers, and Leicester City.

Trotta wants Italy return

The brother and agent of Fulham striker Marco Trotta, Giuseppe Trotta, has revealed the player could return to Italy in the January transfer window.

Fulham have told Trotta, who is currently on loan at Barnsley, that he can leave if the club receive an offer from Italy.

Despite the Cottagers’ struggles this term, the Italy youth international has been deemed surplus to requirements following the summer arrivals of Matt Smith and Ross McCormack.

“The plan is to come back to Italy,” Giuseppe Trotta told Tuttomercatoweb.com. “After many years in England, as an Italian, Marcello would like to measure himself up against his home league.

“We also have an agreement with Fulham that, if an offer comes in from Italy, Marcello can return.

“Unfortunately Fulham never gave my brother the opportunity to express himself. Over the summer Wigan strongly wanted him, but the negotiations didn’t go through.

“As soon as the season had started, Felix Magath put him out of the squad so we decided to accept a six-month loan to Barnsley. That way he could play and prepare himself for a January move.”
