Sint-Truiden’s impressive season start seems to have come to an end, as the team lost their second consecutive game on Saturday. At Westerlo, the hosts were too strong and won 2-0.

Aleksandr Iakovenko helped Westerlo to this victory, scoring at the end of each half. The Ukrainian first found the target in the 44th minute, and repeated this in the 87th.

Standard de Liege moved into first place thanks to a 0-2 win at Kortrijk. Wilfried Dalmat put the defending champions ahead after 34 minutes, and Arnor Angeli added another in the fifth minute of added time.

Standard, Club Brugge, Anderlecht and Sint-Truiden all have 17 points, but Brugge and Anderlecht have a game in hand. Club play away to Excelsior Mouscron on Sunday, while Anderlecht host Germinal Beerschot in Brussels.
