Sint-Truiden risk losing their top spot in the Belgian league after their winning streak was ended by Genk this Tuesday.

The Pro League leaders never stood a chance against Genk, who went ahead with a goal from Marvin Ogunjimi in the 6th minute.

Elianiv Barda made it 0-2 another six minutes later and Thomas Buffel added a second in minute 32.

Sint-Truiden did fight back in the second half, with goals from Vincent Euvrard and Alex da Silva, but Moussa Koita ended the home side’s hopes with six minutes to go, 2-4.

Three teams are now in line to surpass Sint-Truiden later this week. Gent, Anderlecht and Club Brugge could all close the gap with the leaders, and would all have a better goal record should they do so.
