Sivasspor did themselves a great favor this Saturday, beating third-placed Trabzonspor 3-0 to defend their Turkish Super Lig lead.
Musa Aydin scored the opening goal after just seven minutes and Abdurrahman Dereli doubled the advantage in minute 20. The third and final goal came from Hayrettin Yerlikaya, two minutes after half time.
As a result, Sivasspor are four points ahead of Besiktas who face Eskisehirspor on Sunday. Trabzonspor are seven points behind the leaders and no longer seem to be in contention for the title.
The same goes for Fenerbahce, who suffered a 1-2 defeat by Ankaragücü. Leonardo Iglesias and Jaba (penalty) gave the away side a comfortable margin and Deivid’s goal in the 79th minute was too little, too late for Fener.
