Martin Skrtel is set to secure a move away from Liverpool when the transfer window reopens in January, according to the Daily Star.
The defender was expected to leave Anfield in January, with Napoli strongly linked with a move for the Slovakia international.
The Serie A club’s manager Rafael Benitez signed Skrtel for the Reds from Zenit St. Petersburg in 2007, and made a bid worth £10m for him during the summer transfer window.
In Kolo Toure, Mamadou Sakho and Tiago Ilori, the Reds brought in three new centre-backs this summer, though Skrtel impressed in his one and only appearance this season – the 1-0 victory over Manchester United ten days ago.
The 28 year old was drafted in to the first team following Kolo Toure’s injury, but the Ivory Coast international looks likely to be fit for Monday’s trip to Swansea City, where Brendan Rodgers’ side will be looking to maintain their 100% start to the season.
