Skrtel linked with Liverpool exit

The Daily Star understands that Martin Skrtel could be sold by Liverpool this summer in attempt to free up funds for new players.

Reds manager Jurgen Klopp is already planning for his first full campaign in charge at Anfield, and a number of his current incumbent look set to move one.

Forward duo Mario Balotelli amd Christian Benteke have been strongly linked with moves away and Skrtel, who is closing in on ten years at the Merseyside club may also be headung for the exit door.

Since signing from Zenit St Petersburg in the summer of 2007, the Slovakia international has racked up over three hundred appearances in all competitions in all competitions, scoring eighteen goals and was part of the squad that won the League Cup in 2012.

He has been capped seventy-seven times for his country, scoring five times and has been named the Slovak Player of the Year on four occasions.
