Skrtel set for Fenerbache switch

The Mirror understands that Liverpool have accepted a £5.5m offer from Fenerbache for Martin Skrtel.

The thirty-one year old lost fell down the pecking order under Reds’ manager Jurgen Klopp last season, starting only four league games in 2016.

He now looks set to end his eight-year Anfield stay, with the Turkish giants leading Wolfsburg and a club in China in the race to secure his services.

Since signing from Zenit St Petersburg in January 2007, Skrtel has racked up three hundred and nineteen appearances in all competitions, scoring eighteen goals – seven of which coming in the Merseyside outfit’s 2013/14 campaign, where they narrowly missed out on winning the Premier League to Manchester City.

He was part of the squad that won the League Cup under Kenny Dalglsih in 2012, while internationally he won the last of his eighty-two caps for Slovakia in their Euro 2016 Group B win over Russia on Wednesday.
