Croatia boss Slaven Bilic has revealed his dream to coach a Premier League club in the future.
The former Everton and West Ham defender has enjoyed a lot of success with Vatreni since taking over the reigns in 2006, but it looks that he is ready for a change of scenery.
The 43-year-old admits that he is interested in a club job, preferably in English Premier League.
“One day I would love – love, not like – to manage a club,” Bilic said in an exclusive interview for Daily Telegraph.
“And the Premier League is the league in the world that any manager would jump at the opportunity to work in.”
The Croatian explains that he could leave the national team after the European Championship in Poland and Ukraine.
“It’s my dream to have a successful Euros and maybe, maybe leave after that.
“I would love to have a great championship and then I am open to working elsewhere if that is what is the best for everyone.”
Bilic’s contract with the national team is set to expire after the European Championship and everything suggests that he will opt against extending his current deal.
The talented manager reveals that he rejected a number of offers during his time with the Croatia national team.
“To be fair, I have had a lot of options during the past five years but I have never wanted to leave. I showed respect to the clubs and talked to them.”
Bilic led Croatia to Euro 2008 quarter-finals, where his side were beaten by Turkey, but his side failed to qualify for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
