Competition: Irish Premier Division

Market: Sligo Rovers win

Odds: 3/5 @ Bet 365

Saving their best performances for the back end of the season, a high-flying Sligo Rovers will make the trip to the UCD Bowl on Friday night.

Starting with the hosts, despite managing to snatch a 0-0 draw against St. Patrick’s last week, UCD still find themselves sat firmly at the foot of the Premier Division. Now sat 12 points adrift of reclaiming their top-flight status and continuing to show some glaring issues at both ends of the pitch, the mood around Dublin remains at a worrying low. Failing to win any of their last four appearances, including a 5-0 hammering against Dundalk last month, new boss Maciej Tarnogrodzki has seen his side drastically struggle in the final third. Friday’s hosts have now failed to find the net in almost 400 minutes of action.

As for the visitors, while UCD might be enduring a torrid end to the year, Sligo Rovers have undoubtedly saved their best performances for the back end of the season. Putting in yet another eye-catching display in their 3-1 victory over Finn Harps last time out, Head Coach Liam Buckley has seen his men win four of their last five appearances and have tasted defeat just once since the middle of August, with that single defeat coming against runaway league leaders Dundalk. Also landing a 4-0 victory when they met UCD in the FAI Cup earlier in the month, we’re backing a similar outcome on Friday.
