Slimani heading for Lyon

According to a recent report from Gianluca Di Marzio, Leicester City striker Islam Slimani is set for a medical with Lyon ahead of a proposed move.

While Slimani certainly has an awful lot of potential, he has rarely been given the chance to showcase that with the Foxes in recent times. Leicester are starting to firmly establish themselves as regular challengers for a place in the top six and for whatever reason, Slimani isn’t a big part of Brendan Rodgers’ plans.

The 32-year-old first joined Leicester back in 2016 and has since been on three separate loan spells out of the club to Newcastle, Fenerbahce and Monaco. Now, he’ll be returning to Ligue 1 with the hope being that he can inject some new life into the final few years of his professional career.

Leicester, on the other hand, continue to plan for a life in which they are the big disrupters in the top six.
