(GSM) – An early onslaught by Slovenia led them to a 4-1 friendly win over Qatar on Wednesday in Maribor.
Köln striker Milivoje Novakovic opened the scoring for the home side on 14 minutes, and Bostjan Cesar doubled the lead for the Group C side in the 30th minute.
It was 3-0 just four minutes later when Andraz Kirm extended the Slovenia advantage, but Fabio Montezine pulled one back for Qatar on 41 minutes to keep the game respectable.
Bojan Jokic bagged the fourth for Slovenia in the 67th minute to send them to a dominant victory.
Slovenia have a 4 June friendly scheduled against New Zealand before they open World Cup play against Algeria on 13 June.
