Smalling happy at United

The Independent understands Chris Smalling has revealed that he is happy at Manchester United amid reports linking him with a move to Premier League rivals Arsenal.

The centre-back will move into the last twelve months of his current United deal in the summer, and negotiations over a new contract are yet to begin.

Smalling moved to Old Trafford in the summer of 2010, and has since racked up one hundred and forty-one appearances in all competitions, scoring eight goals and was part of the squads the won the Premier League in 2011 and 2013.

The former Fulham man has also been capped fifteen times by England, with one of those appearances coming in the 0-0 draw with Costa Rica at last summer’s World Cup finals in Brazil.

Louis van Gaal’s side, who currently sit in fourth place in the table a point behind Arsenal, host Aston Villa on Saturday afternoon with the home win priced at 1/3.
