Manchester United have confirmed that Chris Smalling and Alexis Sanchez have both agreed to extend their stay in Italy in order to round of the Serie A campaign with Roma and Inter Milan.
Smalling has made 30 appearances for Roma so far this season, making a pretty strong impression in the process. Sanchez, on the other hand, has 19 games on the books for Inter after overcoming some initial injury concerns.
Former United stars Romelu Lukaku and Ashley Young are also both plying their trade at the San Siro right now, with many fans wondering whether or not either of these deals are going to become permanent.
There’s still a great deal of uncertainty surrounding the upcoming summer transfer window and how many clubs are going to be looking to make loan deals permanent, but you’d have to imagine Inter are one of the few that could make it financially viable for themselves.
