According to a recent report from Sky Sport Italy, Chris Smalling wants to make his loan move to Italian club Roma permanent.
The Manchester United defender has had a great run during his time in Rome, reviving his career in the process. Many fans and pundits believe that he would be best suited to remaining in Serie A, and it seems like the Englishman agrees with that thought.
United are set to demand around £32 million in order to sell Smalling to Roma, but with Arsenal also being interested, there could be a battle between the two clubs over the next few months.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer recognises the abilities of Smalling, and with there being a whole lot of time for clubs to ponder their moves in the summer transfer window, it’ll be interesting to see whether or not he puts everything behind keeping him on the books.
Either way, it’ll be an interesting few months.
