(GSM) – Internazionale’s Wesley Sneijder may be facing old foes in the form of Barcelona on Tuesday, but that hasn’t stopped the Dutch playmaker from dreaming about winning the Champions League at the Santiago Bernabeu next month.

The former Real Madrid, who player arrived at San Siro last summer, joined Inter in a reluctant manner after Real Madrid decided to sell him to balance their books following an unprecedented spending spree.

But Sneijder has thrived at his new club, inspiring Inter to the semi-finals of the Champions League with the Catalans arriving at San Siro for the first leg.

“It became my dream once I went to Inter, as I knew the Final was at the Bernabeu. I was dreaming about reaching the Final and lifting the cup,” Sneijder told UEFA.com.

“We’re just two games away now, so let’s go for it. Nothing is impossible.”

While being aware of the prospect of facing Lionel Messi, the 25-year-old remains confident that the Argentine sensation can be stopped.

“Well, yes, I have heard about Messi. I think at the moment he’s the best player in the world, but of course there is a way to stop him. Why not?

“We will find out next week.

“I have realised I am one of the big players in the team, and I hope to be that way until the end of the season – which starts now.

“I think Mourinho’s a fantastic trainer. He knows exactly how to manage both on an individual level and for the whole team. That’s why I’m not scared about the semi-final.

“He will give us information nobody else can give us. That is the power of Mourinho.”
