Dutch media outlet Voetbal Primeur has suggested that Wesley Sneijder could be leaving the club in the near future.
The Netherlands international was reportedly furious at being left on the bench in yesterday’s clash at Kasimpasa, which will undoubtedly add fuel to speculation linking the midfielder with a winter exit.
Sneijder made his feelings clear in the dressing room after the match, blasting the club for failing to live up to the promises.
“I’m a superstar. I played in the World Cup final”, Sneijder reportedly said. “I do not deserve this treatment. There is talk going on behind my back.
“Six months ago I was promised the captaincy, they said I could play as a number 10 and that the club would sign a top player. None of that has happened.”
Sneijder is reportedly a target for Manchester United and former Netherlands boss Louis van Gaal could try and lure him to Old Trafford in January.
The 30-year-old surprised everyone when he left Inter Milan to join Galatasaray in January 2013, and he has since been putting in good performances for the Turkish giants.
Sneijder bagged a total of 18 goals in 48 league outings, scoring a brace to help his side beat arch rivals Fenerbahce some two weeks ago.
