Inter playmaker Wesley Sneijder explains that he rejected a big money offer from Zenit last week.
The Dutchman was repeatedly linked with a January exit from Giuseppe Meazza, but the transfer window closed with him staying at Inter.
Nonetheless, the player now revealed that he received a bumper offer from Russian champions Zenit St Petersburg.
“They (Zenit) were prepared to go really far in order to sign me,” Sneijder told Voetbal International. “There was absolutely nothing wrong with their offer.
“However, I don’t think this is the right moment for me to leave Inter.”
The Dutch international recently admitted he had been thinking about leaving the Neroazzurri in the summer, but it looks as though he has now changed his mind.
The player missed a big part of the season through injury, but when he finally returned Inter embarked on a disappointing run of results.
The Neroazzurri lost five of their last six games in all competitions and are now set to meet Marseille in the Champions League last 16 stage first leg.
Sneijder has been struggling for form this season, having scored just one goal and made three assists in twelve Serie A games.
