Wesley Sneijder was delighted to return to the Inter Milan side in their 3-1 win over Udinese on Wednesday.
The Dutchman netted twice in his first start since his comeback from injury as Inter moved to within three points of third-placed Lazio, who stumbled to a 2-1 defeat at Novara.
“It’s a great feeling to be important for Inter again,” Sneijder told De Telegraaf.
“I decided to make a return only after completely recovering from my injury this time. It’s tempting to rush your comeback, but it generally doesn’t work out. I am back to my usual best again now.”
The 27-year-old said Inter will continue to fight for the remainder of the season in a bid to secure Champions League qualification.
“This result is a real confidence boost for the remaining four league games,” he said.
“We realise that it won’t be easy to climb to third spot as we have games against AC Milan and Lazio coming up, but we will do our utmost to achieve our goal.”
Inter’s next match is at home versus Cesena on Sunday.
