Real Sociedad coach David Moyes has moved to suggest that they could make a move on Real Madrid midfielder Asier Illarramendi.
After Lucas Silva completed his move to Santiago Bernabeu, the Spaniard is widely expected to leave los Blancos by the end of the January transfer window.
And while Athletic Bilbao appear to be readying a mega money bid for his services, former club Real Sociedad are interested as well.
La Real coach David Moyes has confirmed his interest in Illarramendi, which is enough to suggest they could try and sign the midfielder on loan until the end of the season.
“I know (Illarramendi) and his abilities. It seems Madrid don’t want to use him. I’d be happy if he came (back) but I’ve not heard anything about it,” Moyes said at a press conference.
Asier Illarramendi, 24, hasn’t quite managed to justify the €30 million price tag and he does not appear to be in Carlo Ancelotti’s first team plans at the moment.
The defensive midfielder has made a total of 41 league appearances for los Blancos, scoring 2 goals in the process.
