Sociedad set to sign Vadim Demidov

(GSM) – Newly-promoted Primera Division side Real Sociedad are set to sign Vadim Demidov.

The Norway international, who currently plays for Rosenborg, is set to be out of contract at the end of the year.

Sociedad have wasted no time in their efforts to try and lure the Latvia-born defender to Spain.

Demidov is delighted to learn of the interest from Spain and has admitted that he would welcome the opportunity to secure such a switch.

“I know they are interested and have contacted Rosenborg,” he told VG.

“It’s flattering that a club who play in La Liga is interested in me.”

Rosenborg have also confirmed that they are currently locked in negotiations regarding a possible departure for the 24-year-old.

“We have been in contact with Real Sociedad,” director Erik Hoftun told NTB.

“We have held meetings and have discussed the matter.”
