La Liga high flyers Atletico Madrid are reportedly considering a summer bid for Borussia Dortmund defender Sokratis Papastathopoulos, according to Bild.
Los Colchoneros are currently preparing for tomorrow’s Champions League final, where they are 11/10 to lift the coveted trophy, but their officials are also working on summer reinforcements.
Bild has suggested that Diego Simeone is a big fan of Borussia Dortmund defender Sokratis Papatstahopoulos and that he will attempt to bring him to Vicente Calderon.
Atletico already have four very good central defenders in Diego Godin, Stefan Savic, Jose Maria Gimenez and Lucas Hernandez, but it appears that one of them could be allowed to leave.
However, with Borussia Dortmund forced to sell Mats Hummels, chances are that it would take a big money offer for the Millionaires to also let Sokratis leave.
The Millionaires are believed to have lined up a move for Bayer Leverkusen stopper Omer Toprak, who could be available for some €20 million.
