Cologne striker Lukas Podolski will play in the English Premier League next season, according to his former boss Stale Solbakken.
The Norwegian coach was fired by Cologne on April 12 because of recent poor performances, but speaking to UK’s talkSPORT radio, the 44-year-old was clear when asked if the former Bayern Munich man would make his move to Arsenal at the end of the season.
“He’ll be in the same country as you guys (referring to the show’s hosts Richard Keys and Andy Gray),” Solbakken said.
Solbakken also took time to look ahead to Bayern’s Champions League clash with Real Madrid on Tuesday and he believes the Spaniards’ attacking prowess could be decisive in the tie.
“Bayern have impressive attackers, but over 90 minutes the likes of (Cristiano) Ronaldo, (Angel) Di Maria and (Gonzalo) Higuain might be too much for their defence to handle,” Solbakken said.
“But yes, they (Bayern) have the power and aggression, although they must score and keep a clean sheet ahead of the return leg.”
Solbakken’s former team Cologne, currently sit 16th in the Bundesliga table, four points from safety with just three games left to play.
