Catalan daily newspaper Sport is reporting that Atletico Madrid are keeping close tabs on Tottenham striker Roberto Soldado.
Los Colchoners are well aware they could stay without star player Diego Costa in the summer given that his release clause stands at €38 million and are determined to be prepared for the Brazilian’s potential departure.
According to Sport, Atletico have made Tottenham’s Roberto Soldado their primary target to replace the highly rated striker.
The former Valencia star has largely struggled to make an impact in English Premier League and he could be interested in a return to Spanish La Liga.
Soldado has managed just 5 goals in 22 Premiership appearances for Spurs and with four of those goals scored from the penalty spot, it is hardly surprising the 28-year-old’s scoring record has been heavily criticized.
The Spaniard could get a chance to start in tomorrow’s Europa League fixture against Dnipro, where he is 11/8 to score anytime.
