Soldado and Townsend set to stay at Spurs

Tottenham Hotspur manager Maurico Pochettino has insisted that Roberto Soldado and Andros Townsend remain in his plans, according to Sky Sports.

Neither of the duo have started either of the North London clubs league matches so far this season, leading to suggestions that they might be moved on by Monday’s transfer deadline.

Serie A giants AC Milan had been linked with a move for Soldado, who has underwhelmed since arriving a White Hart Lane last summer, though he did score in Spurs’ 2-1 win over AEL last in the qualifying rounds of the Europa League last week.

Townsend had attracted interest from Queens Park Rangers, who are one of a number of clubs the 23 year old has spent time at on loan since turning professional.

Tottenham face AEL in the second leg of the Europa League play-off tomorrow evening, and they can be backed at 1/6 to win the match.
