Manchester United still have a lot to fight for this season. Their Premier League position is wide open and they could end up in top three, but also miss out on Champions League football next season. On the other hand, after their Everton trip, the Devils will go to Barcelona and try to beat Leo Messi and his teammates and book a place in Champions League semifinals.
However, none of that will matter much next season if Man United do not do well in transfer market this summer. That is exactly what Solskjaer has warned the club of, as he says the club have to be “ruthless” when it comes to offloading players that are not needed anymore.
“We need players here who are going to be able to take us forward. That means culture in the dressing room, what we do every single day here to make us challenge again. Liverpool and City are too far head at the moment for what we like. We played against a Barcelona team that sets the standard in European football.”
