Solskjaer wants Maguire partner at Man United

According to a recent report from ESPN, Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants to try and bring in a long-term defensive partner for Harry Maguire during the summer transfer window.

While United have quite clearly been on a strong run of form since the restart, one department where they still need to improve is in defence. The Red Devils have let in far too many poor goals since the start of the campaign, and while Maguire is good, he has a tendency to make mistakes himself, too.

Regardless of what else Solskjaer winds up doing over the course of the next few months in the transfer market, one thing most United fans can agree on is that they need another option at centre back.

If they can get that, then they could wind up having a far better season in 2020/21 than most critics would’ve thought just a few months ago.
